Before you order
What if I don't like it?
The preview is free, so you only pay for a picture you love. You can see it in all three styles and make two more versions before you decide.
After you order, a person checks every picture against the drawing before it is printed, and makes it again if something is missing. If what arrives still isn't right, tell us within 30 days of delivery and we will make a fresh version and send it free.
What photos work best?
Lay the drawing flat in daylight and take the photo from straight above, with the whole sheet in the shot and no flash. We straighten, crop and brighten it for you, and you see the cleaned-up drawing before anything is made.
How are landscape and tall drawings laid out?
A drawing that is wider than it is tall hangs as a portrait frame, with the original above the made-real picture. A tall or square drawing hangs as a landscape frame, with the two side by side. Your preview shows exactly how yours will look.
Can I add a message?
Yes. Add a dedication of up to 80 characters when you choose your frame. It is printed in italic under the title and your child's name, and you see it in the frame before you pay.
Can I send a drawing of a cartoon character?
You can preview any drawing your child has made. If a picture copies a character, logo or brand owned by someone else too closely, we may decline the order and refund it in full, because we can't print other people's designs.
Your order
How long does it take?
The preview takes about a minute. Once you order, a person checks your picture, usually within one working day.
Printing and framing takes up to 3 working days, in the UK. Then a tracked next-day courier (DPD or Evri) brings it to your door. Most frames arrive within a week of ordering.
Digital downloads are emailed once checked, usually within one working day.
Can I change something after ordering?
Yes, until a person approves your picture for printing. Reply to your order confirmation straight away and we can change the dedication, the delivery address or the version we print.
Once it has gone to print it can't be changed or cancelled, because it is made just for you.
What is the grandparent copy?
A second framed copy of the same picture, the same size as yours, for £49. It comes in the same parcel as your frame, ready for you to wrap and hand over.
What is the digital download?
For £15 you get the finished picture, their drawing and the made-real version side by side with the title and name, as a high-resolution file without the watermark. We email a download link once it is checked; the link works for 7 days.
Who checks the orders?
A person at Drawn Real, not a machine. We compare every picture with the child's drawing before it is printed or sent, and fix anything that has gone astray.
Where is my order?
We email you when your picture is approved and again with a tracking link when it ships. If you can't find those emails, reply to your order confirmation and we will tell you exactly where it is.
Delivery
Is delivery really free?
Yes. Free UK delivery on every frame, sent by tracked courier. There is nothing extra to pay at checkout.
When is the last order date for Christmas?
Order framed prints by 13 December for delivery before Christmas. After that date, digital downloads still arrive by email in time.
Do you deliver outside the UK?
Not yet. Framed prints go to UK addresses only for now. Digital downloads work anywhere.
Your child's drawing, and getting in touch
How is my child's drawing handled?
It is stored privately, never published, and used only to make their picture. We delete the drawing and the pictures made from it 30 days after your order ships, or 45 days after upload if you don't order.
It is never used for marketing and never used to train AI. The picture is made with Google's paid Gemini service, whose terms say it does not use what we send to improve its models. We never send your child's name or your email to it.
How do I get in touch?
Email hello@drawnreal.co.uk or reply to any email we have sent you. A person reads every message.
